Patient Information

What to Expect

On your first visit the physiotherapist will take a detailed history of the current problem and your general health, including any recent or major surgery. It is helpful to write a list of operations or medication if the history is complex. If you have undergone recent surgery related to the current problem, a letter from your surgeon detailing the procedure will be required.

A physical examination is carried out which will require exposing the relevant body part – so wear suitable clothing. The conclusion of the examination and recommended treatment will be discussed with you.

What to Bring to your Physiotherapy Appointment

If you have a Physiotherapy referral from your doctor or other information from your doctor, please bring this to your appointment. If you are claiming through an insurance company, please make sure you bring these details with you. It will be helpful if you wear or bring appropriate clothing for the area you are having assessed/treated (For example: shorts for lower limb or back problems)

Cancellation Policy

We require that you give at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel your Physiotherapy appointment so that someone else can be booked into your place. If less than 24 hours notice is given a charge of £10 will be made. If you do not attend your appointment, a full charge will be made. There is a 24 hour answering service (07980-297374 or 01582-768076) where you can leave a message.
